Dear Family,
Elder Lee was called to serve in Holland and while waiting
for his visa to Holland, he decided to serve in Singapore Mission so that he
doesn't waste any time. This is a special case mostly for Singaporean that are
waiting for their visa to serve outside of their country. KL District
Conference is around November 23 - 24 I think. I am excited to meet
everyone in the branch!!
Don't worry about me. Elder Lee used to serve in the
military before. We actually discuss what we gonna do if anyone tries to mug
us. He is gonna protect me while I am gonna run away as fast as I can. Haha!
Just kidding! We will take good care of ourselves.
This week's was really busy. I couldn't tell you how
exhausted I am but I definitely love it because I know that I have done my
best. We went knocking the other day, and as usual doors were slam as us again
and again. You know that I always love to disturb or kacau people. I saw 2
Indian kids on the road so I decided to talk to the kids instead. This is what
I learnt in Sarawak. Kids are the most honest being in the world compare to
others. I believe there is huge percentage of kids that will never lie to you.
I know a little bit of greeting words in Tamil and I greeting them.
Suddenly one the kid came up to me and hug me. LOL
Then, I was like, alright, show me your house kids. By the
way, both of these kids are not related. They are just friends to each other.
They brought us to their house and I saw the mom standing outside and I started
creating a random conversation with
Me: Hey I saw your kids on the road, I decided to return
them back to you.
Mom: They are so naughty right!
Me: No no, I just decided that I want to walk them
home.
Then I started telling the mom who we were and started
talking and the mom told us to follow this other kid home because he is a
Christian. So we followed this other kid home. We were outside the house and
the parents wouldn't come out because the mom was sweeping the floor and the
dad was showering at that time. I tell myself no way I am going away because I
was so exhausted at that time. So I decided to sit outside and talk to this
bunch of kids. Then the dad walked out and we went and talked to him and we
showed him The Book of Mormon. This is the situation; His name is Danny.
Danny: OHH!! I have that book! (He went in and grab the
book)
Elder Lee: No way! You must be having Bible
He showed us the 1st generation of Kitab Mormon (Book of
Mormon in Malay) and then started telling us that their house got burned down
and that he wants to meet with us again.
Sometimes the Lord works in a very mysterious ways and I
always tell my district. Don't stick to only one approach. Try different
approach. I love my district because they are always willing to learn and
wanting to become better. I'd seen how they grown a lot from the first time I
met them.
This coming week is gonna be even more busy with our
schedule since we will back from Singapore on Wednesdayand then there is
much to prepare for the Open House on Saturday. I am looking forward to
all of these wonderful things in my life.
I love Malacca branch especially when Angelo, Anna and
Rachel is here and they are the reason why I love this branch and wanted to
make it even better. I cant wait to hang out with them again after my mission!
Love all of you!
Elder Tan
