Week 100

The day has finally come for me to pack all my belongings and leave Johor Bahru to return to my family. I felt as if it is a dream and it hasn't hit me until I got from the plane in KLIA 2 and saw my parents. It was a mix feeling and indescribable. I look forward going home but at the same time I love what I am doing.

On Monday night, Sister Minang's family had a farewell party for his son and me. His son is entering into the mission while I am leaving the mission. I thought I am able to escape all the dinner appointment because trust me that is the last thing that I want to do which is eat 3 - 4 times. It always happen when someone leaves an area, member would always call us over to cook for us. I am not complaining about the food but most of the time, I have to eat 3 - 4 dinner in one night.

Members started making appointment with me in that party telling me to come over for dinner and of course I wouldn't reject but I just have to figure out a solution. I brought the other 2 missionaries with me to those appointment and it is always better for 4 missionaries to share the food than 2 missionaries.

On Tuesday, I was told to share some word of wisdom to the rest of the missionaries. I remembered telling them that this mission is a mission for each of us to learn. Make full use of your mission calling as district leader, zone leader or assistant because that is the time that you will learn so much. I learnt to humble myself down when I was a zone leader. I learnt to listen to my missionaries. I learnt to love them and serve them. I told each of them in the room that each of them will become a zone leader and when each of them became a zone leader, they should always focus on unity. An experience to relate was when I was in Miri in the Zone Council, a set of English missionaries in a Chinese branch that couldn't speak any Chinese except for Malay were always depressed because they couldn't or didn't know how to deal with this situation. The interesting part that take place was when each of the missionaries in the room are willing to take one for the team to go out to find people just for them to teach. Imagine that teamwork. When a zone are united, they are more likely to achieve everything. Forget about baptism or goal if your zone is not united.

I left on the morning of Wednesday to cross the Causeway border to get into Singapore. I am lucky enough to be able to get into Singapore even though there is some protest from some that are not satisfied with the toll increased. I had my interview with President Mains and I asked several senior couple, what are the advice that they would give to me as a returned missionary. One of them said to get married while the other said to keep moving forward and never look back. President Mains emphasize a lot on staying true to the covenant that I had made and then I was released shortly after that.

That night, we went to the mission house to have dinner specially prepared by President Mains and Sister Mains. It was wonderful and delicious to be able to feel their love for us. I have learnt to love and admire President Mains so much. Later that night, we have a testimony fireside, I recall sharing my testimony how much I admire President Mains for his kindness and humbleness. I recalled telling him that how much each of the missionaries love him.

I almost miss my flight home because of my carelessness I would say. I have waited this moment for so long and I didn't want to miss my flight. I ran as fast as I can to the end of the Changi Airport realizing that my plane is still there. I almost couldn't get in because the immigration line was packed with people and I told one of the officer and he immediately let me in through the other way.

Looking back at my mission life, I never regret for giving my 2 years away serving the Lord. It was tough but I learnt a lot.

Below are some of the picture that Elder Takin got flat tyre and we have a solution better than walking home.

I was sitting on Elder Robin's handle bar while Elder Takin rode my bike and
pull his bike along.

This is how we do it!

This is how I manage to hold myself on the handle bar.

Elder Robins couldn't see because he was too short. Haha

Finally got home safely!

Good job everyone!

Elder Robin the man!

I am not doing this again. I almost fell off!

Lucky Elder Takin riding on my bike! Haha.

This is how we always ride the life with our 4 bikes.
