Week 93

Hey family and Happy Father's Day!

The trip down to Kuala Lumpur to get our US Visa, all I could say is that we have witnessed a lot of miracles and the hand of the Lord in helping us getting our US Visa and returning back to our area as soon as possible. Thanks for doing all the booking and paying stuff. I really do appreciate it. I am definitely excited to go back to Hawaii but I don't think I am ready to face the real world yet because I am so used being in a companionship and it always keep me right on the track.

Let me summarize my trip down to Kuala Lumpur. It was really fun. I enjoy it really much and I definitely seen some changes which really impress me. I noticed a lot of free buses service, more locals using public transports, an increase in number of people using smart phones. Back in the days, people don't even dare to pull out their smart phones but I was at a bus stop and probably all of them are on their smart phones. Rapid KL definitely has better service and I think Metro bus has some room for improvements. We took a rapid KL bus and this driver was speeding, smoking and listening to music from his phone. I wrote down the SPAD's number and the complaint number. The complaint number didn't work but the SPAD's number worked. I remember telling Elder Loke that we need to complain for a better Malaysia. I definitely encourage each of you, if you see something that is not right, lodge a complaint for a better Malaysia. We all have the responsibilities.

When we got into Kuala Lumpur, we went to KLCC then Pavilion then Sungai Wang then Berjaya Times Square then Plaza Low Yat. On the second day, we went to MidValley. We were supposed to go to Sunway but we were too tired. I have to complaint how much I dislike shopping and I was basically complaining all the time because Elder Loke is so into shopping. Haha. We also explored the whole Petaling Jaya and that is how I fell sick. Total money spent on foods, entertainment, travel to KL from JB and from KL back to JB, taxis total up around RM200. That is so expensive for only 2 - 3 days!

I got back into Johor around 12am and I was already half dead because of my fever. I have been taking ibuprofane and it helps to reduce my fever so much.

Yesterday while planning, I was looking at our 6 weeks vision of getting 8 investigators baptismal date and I was talking with myself how can we get that. And then the phone started ringing, it was a referral from one the member. She called because she wanted to meet with us tomorrow. I was stunned and my companion was like, ask and ye shall receive. And because I ask, we receive. Haha. It was hilarious but we are meeting with her and her husband tonight.

One thing that I am definitely grateful about is priesthood. I have seen how priesthood has bless countless of people and I also have the opportunity of using the priesthood to bless others as well. I didn't get any pictures this last week. Its all in Elder Loke's camera. Will send it to you guys when he send it to me.

Love,
Elder Tan

The other elders found a dead crow that was shot by a shotgun.

This is the kind of hill that we need to bike up every time we leave our house.

I still prefer car over bike.

I got a flat tire and have to ride with Elder Takin!
