Week 85

Hey family,
Speaking of the atonment, I have one really good story that I found and this story has help me a lot in understanding the price that Jesus Christ paid.
A man named George Thomas, who was pastor in a small New England
town, entered his chapel one Easter morning with a rusty, old, bent
birdcage. He set the birdcage on the pulpit causing a few raised eyebrows.
He then began to speak. "Yesterday morning I came across a young boy who
had three scared birds in a cage so I asked him what he had there.

"Just some dumb old birds."
"What are you going to do with them?"
"Just tease'em, play with 'em and pull out their feathers."
"Then what will you do with them?"
"Oh, feed 'em to my cat. He likes birds."

The pastor was silent for a moment and then asked, "How much would
you like for those birds?"
The boy replied, "Oh you don't want these birds, they're ugly and
they can't even sing."
"How much?" was the pastors definite reply.

The boy thought for a moment and then said, "Ten dollars". The boy
took the money and vanished. The pastor picked up the cage, walked over to
where there was a tree surrounded by a grassy area. He opened the door and
gently tapped the bars of the cage and coaxed the birds out into the grass.
That explained the birdcage on the pulpit.

Then the pastor proceeded with this story. "One day Satan and Jesus
were talking. Satan was boasting and gloating to Jesus.

"'Yes sir, I caught me a whole world full of people, set up a trap
that they just couldn't resist. Yep, got'em all caged up.'
"'What are you going to do with them?' came the reply
"'Gonna have some fun with them, teach'em to hate, hurt and kill
each other.'
"'Then what are you going to do with them?' asked Jesus.
"'Oh, then I'll kill them and damn 'em forever,' Satan laughed.
"Jesus paused and then asked 'How much do you want for them?'
"'Oh you don't want 'em, they'll just hate you, spit on you, mock
you, and kill you. They don't want you.'
"Jesus looked straight into Satans soul. 'How much?'
"Satan suddenly realized, looked at Jesus and sneered,'All your
tears, all your blood, all your footsteps, all your strength. All your
life.'

"Jesus paid the price, picked up the cage and opened the door."
In our last Zone Council, we renamed it to Zone Council instead of Zone Meeting because everyone can feel like they could talk together and council together. On February, Singapore Mission came out with a baptismal goal of 545 baptism this year. Each of the District Presidents submit their baptism for their district to President Mains (my mission president ) and it total up to 545 baptism. A lot of the missionaries in the mission do not believe that we could do it so we address that in our last zone council which is few days ago about having the right attitude.

Through examining the trends in the missions, we find that it is not the area, it is not the people, and it is not the time of year. Instead it is the attitude of the missionaries and their ability to utilize and apply the talents that they possess. We know that a missionary with a good attitude produces good results; fair attitude, fair results; poor attitude, poor results. The missionary with a good attitude works with the people and not through them.

Self-deceptions are responsible for more then three-fourths of all the so-called “unexplained failures” in the mission field. Many missionaries in the race for success explain their shortcomings as they do in the game of bowling. If they fail to win, something was wrong with the ally, the pins, their arms, their members, their companions, their areas, etc. etc. The trouble is never themselves.

Right after the Zone Council, I see a glow in every missionaries and a change of attitude. I definitely think it is the way that you think that will influence you. If you think of baptising people, you will baptise people. It is all in our hand. Please remember that if we think positively, things will start becoming better.
"Think like a champion!"
We watched a video after my training having the right attitude. You should probably watch it in Youtube. It is called "I am a champion." Everyone was so pumped up after the video and then we have the District Leaders give training. The intention was to show the zone that the Zone Leaders are on board and the District Leaders are on board and I probably should be on board too.
I have repented for thinking that we couldn't achieve it. Right now, I think we could achieve it and I have put in a lot of efforts in preparing the slideshow and I was feeling so excited and enthusiatic the whole time. I shared a scripture verses from 1Nephi 3: 4-7. God has called us to Malaysia to bring souls unto him. Some will murmur and some will do it but as for me, I will be like Nephi and just do it. And we remembered telling them, if you do not think we could do it,  You should probably go home and go on your knee and counsel with the Lord why not.
I have told them that in the coming MLC. I am going to stand up and say, "President Mains, Miri Zone is on board. If you want us to baptise 545, we will do it." We just want to spread the positive attitude all around the mission. I believe that if a lot of us are onboard, everyone will be onboard because it is one of human nature behaviour to follow what others do.
We have expanded our contacting. We started going into areas that hasn't been visited by missionaries before. We are using different contacting method that I recently came out with. A lot of us are finding some success on it but it is still beta version. I will see what is the respone from the zone this coming Tuesday.
We will be having baptism this coming Saturday for Kenny and Juliza. They came to church yesterday and they left even before the sacrament start because their kids were making so much noise. Sometimes kids can be so adorable, sometimes they are just be so annoying. I don't know. I wasn't paying much attention because I was translating talks in the sacrament meeting or I would have approach them even before they go home.
Elder Tan

Elder Wanner cut my hair. Not going to cut my hair for the next 3 months.

One of the slideshows that I made.

Another slideshow too. What do you guys think about it?

I am getting this tie. It is so cooool!!

While contacting, we saw 7 puppies and of course it is tempting so we played with the puppies for a bit.
