Week 80

Hi all,

I make my companion cook for me and make smoothies for me. Haha. But I did help to clean up after eating. He loves making American foods because he is not into rice and noodles. So most of the time we would eat in the house.

There is a lot of things that you will not think of. Food that are delicious for them aren't delicious for us because that is the only food that they could afford. And some of them even stay in a wooden house made by themselves which isn't as secure as cement house. I guess a lot of us are doing a lot better than any of the people here which we need to learn to be grateful for!

I am so grateful for whoever who invented a blender. We make soo much smoothies with this blender. Smoothies just make our day a lot better whenever we are down, hot or not motivated.

Thank you for doing my application. I have figure out that if I get accepted, I wont need an iPhone. I am just going to get myself an iPad. Haha. Excited betul. President Mains will be coming to Miri this week and I guess I could pass that to him. Everything just fall into places which is really good.

It's Monday and we are busy every night until Sunday because all our night are pretty book with appointments. Some thing that I did differently is to meet with investigators twice a week every week with a fix schedule. We recently help Bro Kenny to make a goal to help him stop smoking. It is pretty sad to see people fall into addiction and couldn't find their way out. Bro Kenny shared with us a story that his kid used to hit him and wife on the face when they were praying but the kid recently stopped hitting them but instead he get the father and the mother to pray with him. And the kid changes a lot, he wasn't as naughty as before. That was the commitment that we extended to this family which is to pray together as a family. Later on the rest of the day, we just went to every less actives to start extending the same commitment which is to pray together as a family.

When family start doing that, their relationship as a family grow and their relationship with God grow as well. I am so happy whenever I see them tell us their story of how they see changes in their life. Isn't it obvious now that the gospel is true? And it's opposite to what other people say that we are cult? The church is true and I couldn't deny it.

Our day was basically feel with appointment appointment appointment and every morning I was sooo exhausted and I wish I could have sleep longer but I will do that after I am done with my mission. I see a lot of lives were blessed because we are willing to move a little more which is stretch out a little more.

Yesterday, we were doing less active finding/lost sheep program and we came to this house asking for address and that guy just turned into aggressive and hit me with his broom and were about to hit my companion but my companion hold on to the broom. I was asked why didn't I defend myself and I thought about that and all I could say is I couldn't fight back. I wish I would have fight back but that isn't how Christ would do. It gave me a great understanding how Christ was rejected except he was treated a lot worse than me. I have come to appreciate Christ more and more. I have come to know that no matter what happen, I am still going to be positive. I have seen how being so positive changes everything. I have seen missionaries complaining why isn't it happen. It will not change a thing even though we complain, why don't we just be positive and hope for the best? Haha.

We had a lot of coordinating and one of my favourite coordinating was with the branch presidency. We talked about families to focus on bringing back to church and we focus on several on them. I could see how the work progress a lot more faster when we know what our focus is.

We are going to Crocodile farm again today. It seems like every Preparation day we have something fun to do. When missionaries have fun, they are more likely to have success because they wont stress out easily.

Remember to always be grateful with what you have and to pray together as a family.

Elder Tan

This is a really beautiful picture

Elder Bodhaine chop his head off.

Bro Silo caught a biawak and was about to cut it but his wife was like, DONT CUT IT FIRST! CALL ELDER TAN! Haha. They called us over and we ate monitor lizard with them

That's how they burn it. They dont have a stove le.

Grilled BBQ Monitor Lizard.

 Delicious Monitor Lizarddd.

One of the member own this! This is really cool but I dont think I ever look good riding on this.

Used one of the shortcuts and this is the bridge. Haha

This burger stand has the best burger stand ever beside American burger. They used to know the missionaries. We go there a lot. And I told them to treat us and they did. They even gave us 3 Roti John but we gave them away to a member because we were full and so we decided to give it away because we don't need it as much as this people do.
