Week 40

I was reading about Agency: Free to choose the other day and I have learn that in life, there is only 2 choices which is yes or no. "I don't know" is not a choice. You are free to make your own choice but you are not free to choose the consequence of the choice that you made. For example, you can choose to continue working or you can choose to resign and find a new job. The consequence of you continue working would be you would have to endure much while on the other hand, the consequence for looking for a new job is gonna be otherwise. If it's too hard to make a decision, the easiest way that will always work for me is to kneel down and ask God. Remember to always seek counsel from God and not to counsel Him.

Speaking of Father's Day. Happy Father's Day Dad! Wishing you all the best in whatsoever you are doing. And may you always know that Heavenly Father loves you as His child. And so do we as your children. Speaking of the church, I'd noticed that happiness had been filling our life ever since we became active again even though sometimes there are challenges and trials in our life, we learn to face it in the most positive way. One of the thing that I am most grateful of is to be part of this church and mom's decision to go look for the missionary. It has definitely change my life and my point of view towards the people around me.

For your information, in a week more which is transfer day, there will be another Elder Tan coming into the field. Aiyo. But the good news is that the mission is having a huge change and I am definitely sooo loving serving in this mission. They will have English speaking missionaries and Malay speaking missionaries in few more months. English speaking missionaries will basically base in Singapore and West Malaysia while Malay speaking will base in East Malaysia. The focus was to help build a stake in the main city such as Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Kuching. And at the same time, missionaries won't waste their time but to effectively use their time because a lot of the missionaries that were called for Malay speaking spend a lot of their time in an English speaking area causing them forgetting how to communicate in Malay. Working under President Mains was definitely a great honor for me because of his leadership and revelation that he receives really tell me that this man is truly called of Prophet.

On working with the branch, I am finally able to locate some less active members. I hope and I pray to bring them back. According to the Senior Couple when they first came here, Kota Kinabalu 1st branch was the strongest branch compared to Kota Kinabalu 2nd branch but right now, Kota Kinabalu 1st branch is going down because a lot of the priesthood holders disappear. I don't know what my focus is gonna be like and I don't want to work according to my own focus but working together with the branch focus. The branch focus was to go visit part members family and to bring back some of the potentials less actives. I don't know. All I know is that I'd done it before in Sibu and I am pretty sure I can do it here in Kota Kinabalu.

Tell President Chi that I want a calling to be a membership clerk when I am done with my mission. I heard from the missionaries that there are more than 70 members that are not longer in Puchong anymore. My main focus is gonna keep the membership in a very organized order. I am committed to help build the branch before I leave for my study.

The other day when I was in Singapore eating in Chilis with Elder Teh and his companion. I was speaking in Sabah Malay(I really love Sabah Malay) and the waitress was asking if I am an Indonesian. Wahlao eh. == I am Malaysian larh. People keep mistaking that I am either from China(true, my ancestors were from there but I am not from there leh), Korea(which part of me even look like Korean), Japan(I do not speak Japanese larh) or America(I do not have blonde hair eh). I gonna have to wear black shirt going around with I AM MALAYSIAN on it someday. Crazy right =="

People keep asking me if I can speak KL Malay. Hey Sis, can you give me an example of KL Malay. I really have no idea what is KL Malay. Haha.

Love, Elder Tan

Only one picture this week. Zone Meeting at Singapore Stake Center with Elders from Sandakan and Tawau. Look at Elder Teh == speechless betul.
