Week 31

Please help me to thank Sister Jennifer, Brother Tessh and Miguel for the letter that they sent to me! It was so nice of them to write me a letter with a book mark in it. Thank you and I appreciate it very much. Thank you mummy for helping me to find the stuff that I need. As for now, I can't really think of anything I need right now. I'll let you know asap if I need anything. Thank you Bro Adrian for the package last Christmas and also the branch as well. Everyone is so nice. I am sooo touched. Hahaha.

Well, on top of that, Puchong branch is actually considered the strongest branch in Kuala Lumpur District according to some elders that had served in West Malaysia. I am really proud of it as well with 4 YSAs serving in mission and several more serving soon. Thinking back what President Chi spoke about splitting the branch and another set of missionaries were placed in Puchong. I... am really worried that they are working on to split the branch. It is a good news because the branch is growing but at the same time I don't know what will happen. Also, I have the statistics that shows what Kuala Lumpur District need to achieve to have a stake in Kuala Lumpur. And, the church is gonna build a huge building near Petaling Jaya chapel. The construction will start end of this year and will be done in 2015 I guess? They are planning to move Singapore Mission office into Malaysia. Hey sister, encourage more YSAs to serve mission larh. These young people need to learn things that will help them go higher.

The branch in Kota Kinabalu had received wedding announcement from Eddy and Samantha. They are getting married on 16 April 2013!! And also Samantha, if you happen to read this, how dare you call Edre to belasah me. I'll cari you nanti I finish my mission and bully your kids nanti. In addition to that, 3 - 4 missionaries from Kota Kinabalu serving outside of Malaysia will be finishing their mission this year on November. A total of 5 - 6 Malaysians from Sabah I guess are gonna apply to go to BYUH. This is gonna be so fun later on in BYUH. Can't wait to go back!!

Few days before I got transferred to Sabah. On Monday our house got broke in again which add up to 2 times in my whole 7 months. It happens at 2am - 3am according to the neighbour. We actually have no idea that our house was broken in until 5pm - 6pm, our neighbour told us and then we started thinking back why was our glass door not closed. The thieves came into our house while we were all asleep upstairs, walking around downstairs while one of their friend with a car waiting outside the gate. Our neighbour came home at that time and started chasing the thieves, the thieves climbed out from our back fence and left his sandals there. Sometimes I even wondered what do these people actually want from us when we are all only a bunch of 20 ish years old kids. And I recalled in Alma 37:37, liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep. I am pretty sure that all 4 of us missionaries knelt down and prayed before we went to bed. Now remember remember, pray before your sleep and also pray in the morning :)

37 aCounsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for bgood; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the cmorning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day.

Another matter which is conversion. Conversion is one of the main reason church members fall. Because they are not fully converted unto the gospel of Jesus Christ. Now read this article about 10 ways to know if you are really converted and then share around if you have a chance. Because if they are not converted, then they will eventually fall away. First and foremost, the law of the Lord is perfect in converting soul. The law of the Lord includes obeying Word of Wisdom, Law of Chastity, Tithing and much more. Do not see any of these commandments as a burden but rather a privilege. I truly hope that my family and my branch will be fully converted if we want a stake in Malaysia. In Psalm 19:7

The alaw of the Lord is bperfectcconverting the soul: thedtestimony of the Lord is esure, making fwise the gsimple.

This is what I'd learnt this past week. I started reading from Book of Mormon again but this time, reading words by words understanding each meaning and sometimes I found out something really funny which I can't share with you. You need to explore yourself. I have to agree that reading Book of Mormon is like treasure hunting because every words/treasures that I found benefits me in my life especially teaching me important matters and truth.

Regards,
Elder Tan
