Week 22

Not just West Malaysia is having terrible jam, it's the same thing in Sibu as well but not as bad as West Malaysia. But I am definitely grateful I have my bike with me to be able to slip through all these cars. Maybe, when I come back, I am gonna get a motor license and buy a sport motorbike.

Speaking of that, I fell from my bike twice in less than 1 minutes. Dang it. I was so frustrated but it is all well. I was cycling on the walking way and there was a drain without anything covering on it. I was cycling and couldn't avoid it so I press on my front brake pretty hard and my back wheel came up and I was basically looking at the floor with my back wheel on the sky and I just crash onto the floor and hit my both kneel but all is well. And then I broke my back brake, you know the thing where you press and the wheel stopped? I haven't replace it yet because the bike's shop said they would call me but they haven't call me until now. Alright and then, I continue to cycle on the walking way, the floor was slippery at that time, when I press my front brake again, my bike slipped off and I fell on the floor. Guess I really have no luck. Anyway, all is well and I am doing fine right now.

On the other hand, Word of Wisdom has been really a great issue here in Sibu and I believe it's the same everywhere in the country. Word of Wisdom is a commandment given by God to all the members not to drink alochol, tea, coffee, smoke and take drugs. I want everyone to understand. It is not a commandment given by prophet, man or me but it is a commandment given by Heavenly Father through Prophet Joseph Smith to help preserve our health. After Word of Wisdom was announced, few years later, science has also prove that drinking alcohol, tea, coffee, smoking and taking drugs are not recommended and will damage your body. From this, we can know that God is the wisdom. He knows what is good and what is not. People from other churches might ask, why isn't my church has this commandment? Allow me to explain, because your church do not have a living prophet to guide you in present, period. Commandments were made to make us become better. Why do you think your parents would have so many restrictions for you when you were born? It was all for your good and it is the same thing with commandments. We are all Heavenly Father's children. He loves us and He wants the best for each of us and that is why commandments were made to make us become a better person. Never give in to any temptations that would lead you to break a commandments. Be tough!

D&C 58: 30 - 33
30 Who am I that amade man, saith the Lord, that will hold him bguiltless that obeys not my commandments?
31 Who am I, saith the Lord, that have apromised and have not fulfilled?
32 I command and men aobey not; I brevoke and they receive not the blessing.
33 Then they asay in their hearts: This is not the work of the Lord, for his promises are not fulfilled. But wo unto such, for their breward lurketh cbeneath, and not from above.
D&C 82: 10

10 I, the Lord, am abound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no bpromise.

Always remember. Only in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we have a living prophet that constantly guide us to do the right thing.

The other day, I was cycling and stopped at the traffic light. Suddenly a car row down the window and started talking to me asking me where is my church and can his children come to the church. Moment later, the light turned green so I asked him to stopped in front where we could talk more. I asked for his number and said that the Chinese Elder would call them. Days later, we receive an invitation from the family to go with the Chinese Elders to have dinner with them but it was later postponed as they were heading to Sarikei. I am really looking forward to meet with this wonderful family.

Regards,
Elder Tan

Way long picture, it was thanksgiving at that time, all the Elders gather together in the Senior Couple's house to have lunch. It was so tasty!

Family of my member. Sis Daong is a grandma with her grandchildren. Sitting at the back is Anne with her mom, Sis Anita.

Kids of the investigators.

They are like my dad and mom in Sibu. They are so hilarious and they are in their 60 ish. Old enough to be my grandfather and grandmother. I hope they don't read this or else it's gonna be so funny.

In the Library of the new chapel. Trying to help the Senior Couple to organize the books in the Library.

We just board on Kapit.

Long house's tradition sitting on the floor.

This bench is so nice to sit on. It's handmade. Sooo comfy!

We are in Kapit Town Square. The first few missionaries that visited Kapit! Proud of it :)

Sleep also want to take my picture is it? Sigh.

Time to go back. On our way home.

Happen more than 3 months ago. At that time Elder Bradley was still my companion. We were helping the Zone Leader's investigators to move because they were away at that time. Elder Marteeny, Me and Elder Bradley doing service helping to move.
