Counting the weeks instead of days is definitely different

Our trip to Mukah today got cancelled because the other elders are sick so we have to postpone it to next week plus I feel that my schedule is so packed up this week. I guess it is the right choice. I'll be going to Kuching on Tuesday hopefully and will be having a training on Wednesday and I guess we are coming back on Thursday. Plus, we found a house, if all the agreements are done. We will be moving in on Friday I guess. So it means that I am going to meet Elder Teh at Kuching. And Elder Chan serve in Batu Gawat which is 30 - 45minutes bike ride from Kuching.
I got the package on Thursday. Thanks for being so efficient mom. I never thought I would receive the package that fast. As always, sharing is caring. I put all the snacks and candies in a box so that everyone can have it. Plus it was Halloween on the first of November so it's trick 'n' treat. The other day when the senior couple sent me and Elder Bradley home, I rushed into the house and brought the box out and let the senior couple choose some snacks. They were shouting, "trick n treat". Hahaha. So funny the senior couple here and they are like the nicest senior couple you know. They are Elder Marteeny and Sister Marteeny from Idaho.
We were told that we were first priority because our house was broke in but we'd never seen any action taken so far. So we decided to take matter into our own hand and find a house for ourselves. With my skill, I have no problem looking up on the Internet to find houses for rent. I found few houses for rent but we only visited 2 houses. One of it was totally fine but it was  dirty so we visited another one which is a Semi Detached house. It turned out that the house owner was the first few church members that were baptized in Sibu. And he hasn't been coming to church for more than few decades. I have no idea how I found the address but I am really glad that by looking for house on the Internet, we actually found a less active member. In addition to that the house meets all of the missionary house requirements so we decided to rent it. He stays few blocks away from our house so it makes thing a lot easier. We invited him to come to church but he can't make it yesterday because he has to travel a lot for business but I invited him to come on the open house for the new chapel which is on December 15th. He promised me that he will showed up on that day. As for now, we have to wait an approval from the mission president. Hopefully it's a green light.
After visiting the house, Elder Bradley had a flat tyre so the house owner, Richard Chan took us with his four wheel drive to the nearest shop to repair and then he left. At there, I met a Methodist lady who talked to me in Chinese;
Are you a Mormon? It's very rare to see a local in missionary attire.
Yeah, I am Mormon. Yeah, it's true but starting this year. You will see a lot of local from West Malaysia serving.
I heard that your church have a book called Book of Mormon, do you believe in Bible? I have a Book of Mormon but I'd never read it.
We do believe in Bible and we believe that Book of Mormon and Bible work hand in hand so that we have a better understanding in Jesus Christ. Plus, when you read on the Book of Mormon, at the bottom you will see the reference that will refer you to Bible.
One weakness about your church is that your church practices polygamy.
It is true but our church do not practice polygamy anymore and if our church find out that any of the members still practice polygamy, they will be kicked out.
*looked speechless*
Do you have any time so that my other Chinese speaking missionaries friend can visit you?
NoNoNO! I am very busy everyday.
It's alright. We don't force people to do things they don't like.
These are the main point when we talked. I also invited her to our new chapel on December 15th to have a better understanding on Mormon. From my opinion, people know about Mormon but they do not have an accurate information about us. Yesterday me and Elder Bradley visted the Chinese branch in Sibu because the Chinese Missionaries couldn't make it to the church because they were sick. It was testimony Sunday, a lot of them bore their testimony about people not having an accurate information about our church and accuse us as cult. The great part is that, they stand up to tell them the truth. I have the urge to bear my testimony as well so I bore my testimony in Chinese for the first time telling them about the conversation between me and the Methodist lady. I end my testimony with, do not be afraid. Stand up for what you believe. I hope that this will help strengthen them.
And, I really want to know how daddy & mummy feel when I decided to go on mission. A lot of people ask me how my parent feel when I decided to come on mission. Many of them comment negatively such as you are the only son, I don't think they like it. Most of the time, I would just reply, Of couse they like it because I can learn how to live independently. They somehow look convinced after that. These people ar. No eyes see.
How is everyone doing? How come nobody email me? Sad. Where is my friends? :(

This time better. Oh btw, it is definitely a wise decision to get a waterproof camera

They never stop posing. Funny

This time we sat on the floor. Oh btw, we have a video of all us dancing under the rain taken by the senior couple who arrive later to bring me and Elder Bradley to fix his bike. This was 2 weeks ago

Every Thursday, we have curry and we name it Curry Khamis. Elder Tippets, the one with guitar always cook for us curry every Thursday

With an effect so that is why my eye is shinning. So that is basically what we have every Thursday for lunch.
