It takes a long time to grow an old friend

As we enter 2012, I would like to wish everyone a new start of 2012 and the end of 2011.

I realize that when one gains money and fame, they changed tremendously fast.

I had a deep conversation with mom today. We were talking about her family-side story. I am really grateful that everything has past and my parents didn't have any criminal records because of that incident. Well, the story began when A rented out her place to my parents telling them that it's a safe place to stay especially when there is an illegal gambling syndicate in that house. Apparently, my parents were convinced enough and decided to stay in that house. A blink of eye, 2 years had past and things were beyond what we had thought, polices came to my house after receiving information that there is an illegal gambling involved in my house. Police then arrested my parents accusing them that they were involved in illegal gambling. The truth is that, that house doesn't belong to us but A and A gains all the fortune she wants and left the consequence of her bad doing to my parents. Finally, everything comes to the end after countless of visit to court during that 4 years.

As her son, of course I felt very angry. I even thought to myself that someday I would bring A's family down and revenge for my family. But after thinking again and again, since it's a history, there is no point digging out the past and continue to continue what that had left behind by my family. Frankly speaking, I feel the pain after all my parents have gone through. And I remembered that, "he who forgive is forgiven." This words seriously enlighten me and I gave up thinking about revenge.

When I was in Langkawi, I had dinner with my friends and when we were done eating. I walked to the counter and paid the bill. We actually ordered a combo set that cost RM92 and also a cheezzy wedges that cost RM6. The total payment should be RM98, but I was charged RM92 instead. At that very moment, many would choose to leave with a balance of RM8 but I did not. I told the cashier that I should be charged RM98 instead of RM92. He then charged me RM98. I walked back to my table proudly telling my friends that I told the cashier to charge me RM98 instead of RM92. I was praised because of my dumbness for not leaving with a balance of RM8.

Now let me tell you the reason why I choose to pay RM98 instead of RM92, I actually saw this group of young people working really hard. Their determination actually touches my heart. Also, I wouldn't be that bad enough to cheat their RM6 when they work so hard. Lastly, I feel guilty enough that I feel like I am in debt with them or rather I would not be dishonest.
